Meditation

I recently went to a Buddhism meeting at Unity Temple. It was very interesting. The first part of the meeting we sit and meditate for about 15 minutes. The instructor tells you relaxing thoughts and to let go, just let your thoughts pass by "like a cloud in the sky". I felt a little uncomfortable doing this and had some difficulty letting my thoughts pass by. I had so many racing thoughts. I would try to stop them each time they would come up and focus on the meditation. I was surprised how hard this was for me. I then started thinking about how I am not good at meditating and how to stop my thoughts and just let go and relax. This was a frustrating process for me. She said that it doesn't come naturally and that it takes practice. I think I am going to need quite a bit more practice.
