Free Write Literacy

In Ancient Egypt they used hieroglyphics to write about their history and beliefs. We now have this information today through archaeological studies. Without this type of information we would not have a knowledge of their culture. This is a form of literacy. As we discussed in class, literacy can come in many different forms. All are equally important. Without it we would be a lost civilization. Throughout history, literacy has proven to be important. We use it to learn from our forefathers mistakes and create a better future for our youth. What would our world look like today without literacy? Literacy is everywhere, it's in our banking system, our work, our educational system, our government and even in our art. It is our way of communication. Without literacy, we wouldn't have a stable and organized structure to our culture. Our world would 'literally' fall apart. :)
